Summer at the Farm

Farm life is full of wonderful moments. We learn about the animals on the farm, what they eat, how to sow, maintaining and harvesting the land. And we may even experience driving the school tractor, and crushing the apples from the tree for a sweet compote to have with lunch.

This week, the children shall see what life is like on the farm. Learning about all the animals; how to take care of them and what fresh produce they may give us in return. Sowing the great fields with seasonal seeds and keeping everyone who lives on a farm happy and healthy.

We will visit our little farm upon the hill, called ‘Hof Kleinenberg’, where we can work with the bees, feed the ducks, collect the chickens’ eggs and brush the ponies. The children shall have a hands-on experience of the many things that take place at a farm over the summer months.

The International Montessori School offers a thoroughly prepared and beautiful learning environment, supporting the complete development of children and students from the ages of 1 to 18. A bilingual approach together with the Montessori Pedagogy and the International Baccalaureate Secondary Section (IB MYP and DP) prepares children and young adults for life.

This, together with balance in freedoms and logical boundaries and the guideline that “your freedom ends where someone else’s freedom begins” helps children to become responsible individuals who look after themselves, their environment, and others!
