The older children of Rotselaerlaan Primary together with the whole of Primary 2 will be going on an overnight excursion. They will travel by bus to lodge in a Flemish youth hostel in St. Vith, situated in a very quiet area about 5 minutes from the centre of the town. The lodge itself is surrounded by playgrounds and is a good starting point for walks and hikes in the beautiful landscapes near the High Fens. This offers the students a geographical orientation of where Belgium lies in relation to its borders with Germany and Luxemburg and an opportunity to explore a city outside Brussels.

During these days away, the children will practice team building with their fellow classmates, self-help skills, responsibility, and independence. Besides getting fresh air and plenty of movement, they will experience some old-fashioned cultural crafts, possibly visit a historical castle, and maybe even get the opportunity to go in an underground slate mine.

The International Montessori School offers a thoroughly prepared and beautiful learning environment, supporting the complete development of children and students from the ages of 1 to 18.
