Rotselaerlaan + Savoorke | Primary and the older children of Children's House
Primary ‘Rotselaerlaan’ and the older children of Children's House ‘Savoorke’
Tuesday 23rd May
Time: during school hours
Mode of transport: school bus
Location: Domein Bokrijk, Bokrijklaan 1, 3600 Genk
Today, we are all living in the 21st century. We have a warm house with a roof made out of clay or asphalt shingles, concrete tiles or sometimes even metal. We have found a comfortable way of getting from point A to point B, we go to school (and what a school!) during the week days, and during the weekend we do activities with our friends and family.
But how did children live at the end of the 19th century? What did their school day look like? What did they do during the summer months? What did they eat for dinner? Where did they sleep? For one very special day, the Primary children will travel back in time, meeting many characters with their own stories. But parents, do not worry: at the end of the day the school bus will bring them back to 2023 – their minds full of interesting impressions from the past.
