Overnight Excursion - De Haan

Location: Het Galjoen, Vosseslag 21, 8420 De Haan

The students will go on an overnight excursion to De Haan, a small seaside town on the Belgian coast. There, they will stay in a hostel called “Het Galjoen” located near the beach, the dunes and the woods. In May, they will be in the middle of their studies surrounding the topic of technology. This excursion will allow them to explore the history and evolution of fishing in the North Sea, building a better understanding of the working conditions of fishermen of the past and today and how technology has helped them. Explorations will be done from different points of view: the history of technologies, the protection of animals, and the marine fauna in the North Sea.

Many visits are planned during the overnight excursion, including visiting aquariums, studying boats and ships within the harbor, and visiting the fish markets

The International Montessori School offers a thoroughly prepared and beautiful learning environment, supporting the complete development of children and students from the ages of 1 to 18.
