Theatre Night: 'La petite bourgeois' at Théâtre National for DP students
    Starts: 7:30 pm
    Ends: February 15, 2019 - 11:00 pm

Location: Théâtre National Wallonie Bruxelles, Boulevard Emile Jacqmain 111-115, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium

    Description:

After studying Bertolt Brecht in their theatre class, the students will attend this play at the Theatre National. “Here’s to the happy couple!” The ceremony over with, it’s now time for the wedding feast and everyone is at the table. The newlyweds, the father, the sister, the friends: little by little the masks come off and all the hypocrisy in the relations between the characters is revealed, from arguments to the settling of scores. As the aggressions mount, even the sets crack and the furniture starts falling apart and breaking.A scathing comedy written by Brecht in his twenties, La Noce (A Wedding) limns the picture of the rancid bourgeois world of Germany in the twenties, crushed under the weight of conventions and the loss of values.Lithuanian director Oskaras Koršunovas takes hold of this transgressive farce to exploit the comic potential of a performance where improvisation rules. By adding contemporary extracts, he anchors it in Lithuanian society but more importantly highlights its universality.

SPECIAL research documentary streamed for International Montessori parents!

Are you watching your children scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own children and learned that the average child spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time.We will host two screenings of this film at school. The first one will take place on Monday, the 18th of February for the MYP and DP students, followed by a discussion during the class time. The second one will be addressed at the MYP and DP parents as well as the whole school community. The screening will be followed by a discussion. This event will take place in Hof Kleinenberg on Thursday, the 21st of February from 17: 30 to 19: 30. School rents the streaming; however there will not be an entry fee. Refreshments and snacks will be sold as a fundraiser for our Burkina Faso and CHIME projects. And we hope you will donate generously!

‘International Montessori’ offers a thoroughly prepared environment for learning and complete development for children and students aged 1 to 18 in beautiful and aesthetic surroundings. Montessori education together with the International Baccalaureate Secondary section prepares young people for life.

We focus on all aspects of the personality, much is in the detail! Everything we do is to help children gain trust in themselves so that they feel confident and empowered.
This together with logical limits and the guideline that ‘your freedom ends where someone else’s freedom begins’ helps individuals become responsible and look after self, environment and others!

We hope you enjoy this website and find useful information on the details involved in assisting towards the development of a harmonious personality.
