International Baccalaureate

ib logoThe Middle School carries the status of Candidate Middle Year Program (MYP) as provided by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The program as recommended by the IBO is the basis of our curriculum. Besides passing a variety of evaluation tests, the students are required to build a portfolio of produced work. In year 5, a personal project covering half an academic year forms a large component of this collection of work. For further details please consult the link to the IBO website:

Combining a truly international Montessori program together with the high standards and criteria as set by the IBO Middle Year Program, the Primary school is compatible to a wide variety of educational systems. Students graduating from International Montessori generally do very well. They adapt well to other systems and as it happens, we regularly hear of our graduates skipping a grade when entering their next system of education.

Teacher Qualifications

teaching 2 teachers, holding a degree and/or teaching diploma, staff each class. One of the teachers in each class also holds the Montessori diploma. International Montessori has an active policy on helping motivated adults to obtain Montessori qualification. This involves study, observations, making of lesson and presentation manuals and practice teaching in the different locations.

In-house training supplements the education. By means of meetings, presentations and discussions, staff is exposed to the latest research. The coordinators address further discussion on the Montessori philosophy and practical implications in the classroom.

Research and questioning is interwoven in the attitude of the school. By making new discoveries, adults working with the children are motivated to extend themselves and others. Thus being role models of life-long learning!
