Information Evening: Mathematics and Geometry
Information Evening: Mathematics and Geometry for the ages 2 to 16
Tuesday January 31
At ‘Hof Kleinenberg’s’ Children’s Houses, Primary and Middle School
Time: 19:30
Geometry starts in Children’s House and continues right through Middle School. Beautiful concrete materials help the children understand the abstract concepts at an early age. The young child experiences it at a sensorial level with the naming of shapes and solids. The Primary student learns about kinds of lines, angles, and quadrilaterals and manipulates material related to pi, congruency, similarity and equivalence. In the Upper Primary children work with area and volume already deriving the basic formulae. During the Middle School years the students consolidate and further their knowledge and understanding of an ever-growing number of concepts. They find relationships and make comparisons in order to express their physical world through mathematical terms and language.
