IBO Middle School Authorization

You might have noticed it already, since last summer, 27th August to be precise;
the Middle School section of our school has joined the IB World Schools.

We moved over a relatively short period of time from an Applicant Status to
a Candidate School to an Authorized School. In order to make this a reality,
the whole group of teachers, taking care of our young adolescents, agreed to
work together in a harmonious and determined manner to make sure that the
already high standards implemented by us, became compatible with the
IBO criteria. And visa versa!

These criteria apply to the MYP (Middle Year Program), for children aged
11 to 16 years old. During the Information Sessions of October and November
the basic elements have been explained to the families attending.

With the help of various media, the curriculum framework, the planning strategies,
the approach to the actual learning styles, the emphasis on the personal development
and the assessment tools and their transparency were presented.

The families, students as well as parents, currently part of the MYP have noticed
the implementation on a day-to-day basis and have expressed on several occasions
their satisfaction with the approach.

In order to reflect the essence of the program, the mid-year reports were changed
to such a format that enhanced all the relevant components. 

Again thanks to all the people involved and their commitment to reach the highest
possible standard, this materialized in time for the December Report meetings.

We are going from strength to strength!
