Independance
As Kahil Gibran says to parents:
“Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you, but not from you, and though they are with you, they belong not to you…….” “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
At all levels of development, life urges for an appropriate level of independence. This does not mean becoming self centered and egoistic, no it indicates an optimal level of development at that point in time.
Toddlers can dress themselves and choose their clothes, Children’s House children can resolve a conflict through communication, Primary children can stand on stage and feel relaxed, Middle school children can cook the dinner and care for others!
Why is this so important? Being given the opportunity to develop oneself to the utmost creates a positive and strong personality, with … life longing for itself…
They will not choose for drugs, steal or become depressed! They will look at life with confidence!
