International Montessori’ offers three weeks of holiday camps!
When?
Easter in April:
Monday April 12 to Friday April 16
First week of summer holidays:
Monday June 28 to Friday July 2
Second week of summer holidays:
Monday July 5 to Friday 9
Hours :
Camp hours are from 9.00 to 16.00 hrs.
Additional After Camp Hours up to 17.00 hrs. can be organised and are payable in advance. Please indicate this on your Sign-Up sheet.
Participation
Children between the ages of 2 ½ to 11 can sign up.
Locations
Easter Camp and the second week in the summer will be
at International Montessori “Savoorke”, Bergestraat 24, 3080 Tervuren.
“Savoorke” lies on the border of Tervuren Park. This 200-year-old farmhouse is situated in a lovely spot next to Robiano castle and several fishing ponds. Nature walks and nature activities can be started at its doorstep. Additionally it has a sports area, playgrounds and a skate park nearby.
The camp during the first week of the summer holiday will be held at
International Montessori ‘Hof Kleinenberg’, Kleinenbergstraat 97-99,
1932 St. Stevens-Woluwe. This recently renovated rectangular farm dates back to 1615 and offers a courtyard and extensive grounds including gardens, playing fields and a flying fox!
The Camp Guides
Our Montessori teachers staff the camp, along
with help of adolescents who are graduates of
the Montessori Middle School.
This creative team will provide the different activities and experiences.
Activities
The children will fill their day with:
- arts and crafts
- nature walks
- cooking
- games and sports
- outdoor play (as weather permits)
- songs and drama
Theme
The Easter camp will offer activities around the theme: Animals and their habitat. The children will visit the park; look for insects, amphibians, birds and mammals. They will also built huts, do related art and craft activities and feel one with nature.
The theme of the first week in the summer will be ‘Far West’ Hopefully we will get nice hot weather to experience the appropriate dusty environment. Children will explore life in North America 300 years ago, Indians and cowboys being part of the scene.
The theme of the second week will be about our Earth and its parts. Children will look at aspects of physical geography and explore rivers, mountains and plains. They will also look towards the future and discuss recycling. Beautiful artwork with recycled materials could come out of this! Instead of throwing them in the bin, children can already start to collect cardboard boxes of all shapes and sizes at home!
Cost
The cost is €240 per child per week and is payable upon registration.
Please note that we organize the number of camp guides according to the number of children enrolled and therefore the fee is not refundable.
Registrations are accepted in order of enrolment.
The fee includes all materials, snacks and (cold or hot) lunch.
Extended hours
In the event of you needing extended hours up to 17.00 hrs., the cost is €265 per week.
