International Montessori offers again three exciting weeks of holiday camps!
Dates :
Easter in April:
Monday April 11 to Friday April 15
First week of summer holidays:
Monday June 27 to Friday July 1
Second week of summer holidays:
Monday July 4 to Friday 8
Hours :
Camp hours are from 9.00 to 16.00 hrs.
Additional After Camp Hours up to 17.00 hrs. can be organised and are payable in advance. Please indicate this on your Sign-Up sheet.
Participation
Children between the ages of 2 ½ to 11 can sign up.
Locations
Easter Camp and the second week in the summer will be
at International Montessori “Savoorke”, Bergestraat 24, 3080 Tervuren.
“Savoorke” is a renovated 200 year old farm house, situated near the village centre of Tervuren. Along with the camp guides the children can easily take nature walks in nearby Tervuren Park and access the Africa Museum.
The camp during the first week of the summer holiday will be held at
International Montessori ‘Hof Kleinenberg’, Kleinenbergstraat 97-99,
1932 St. Stevens-Woluwe. Here the setting offers a large playground, vegetable and flower gardens and even a flying fox! Nature walks are also possible from its doorsteps.
The Camp Guides
The holiday camp coordinator is Laurence Rambour, who is one of the Primary teachers at ‘Hof Kleinenberg’. She runs the camp with other Montessori teachers from our schools, sometimes along with help of adolescents who are graduates of the Montessori Middle School. This creative team provides the different ideas and activities.
Activities
The children will fill their day with:
- Arts and crafts
- Nature walks
- Cooking
- Games and sports
- Outdoor play
- Song, drama and dance
Themes
The Easter camp will offer activities around the theme: Artists around the world. Different media such as printing, sculpture and painting will be presented and different techniques will be used. The teachers will also talk about the different styles and some art history. Additionally, weather permitting, children will enjoy the spring sunshine in the playground and the park!
The theme of the first week in the summer will offer activities around the theme: Asia. Cooking, craft activities, dress up and dance will allow the children to submerge in the Asian culture and have a fun week together. Sunshine provided, the pool will be taken out and lots of outdoor games and activities will take place as well.
The theme of the second week in the summer will offer activities around the theme: Africa. ‘Savoorke’s’ proximity to the Africa Museum expands the possibilities of their activities. The museum’s collection of art, tools, craft, and animals will enhance the student’s discovery of this continent. Mask making, music, and dancing are some of the cultural activities they will explore during this week of camp. We hope for full summer conditions, to add to the atmosphere!
Cost
The cost is €240 per child per week and is payable upon registration.
Please note that we organise the number of camp guides according to the number of children enrolled and therefore the fee is not refundable.
Registrations are accepted in order of enrolment.
The fee includes all materials, snacks and (cold or hot) lunch.
Extended hours
In the event of you needing extended hours up to 17.00 hrs., the cost is €265 per week.
