After School Hour Program

After school care is available for all students in our
Toddler Community, Children’s House and Primary programs. 

At the two Tervuren locations (Rotselaerlaan and ‘Savoorke’) and in Woluwe (‘Hof Kleinenberg’) after school care is provided on-site until 18.00 each school day.  The after school care for Wezembeek-Oppem and Sterrebeek is provided at the Wezembeek-Oppem campus.  The hours of care are dependent upon on the amount of demand.  Students from Sterrebeek are brought over by our school van to the Wezembeek-Oppem centre, which is just a 1.5 km journey.

The Middle school students often stay longer too. Either completing their homework, performing some research, having a chat with teachers and peers or preparing for their practical events ahead. The environment is theirs and due to their age and maturity they perform these activities independently.

Trained adults, who in general also fulfill other positions within one of the centers, staff the After School Programs. Depending upon the age and capacities of the children present, a playful constructive program is put together. This can vary from gross motor activities, such as football, basketball, diabolos, or devil-sticks, a multitude of art activities, construction activities either inside or outside, board games, music appreciation or sometimes just quietly reading a nice story together.

Whichever activity is chosen during this time of the day, the most important aim of the afternoon is to continue the work that was done earlier in the day; developing and maintaining an outstanding feeling of self worth.
“I’m proud and happy to be myself!“ should be the message that goes home by the end of yet another fulfilling day at school.
