The Eversham Journey
The Eversham Journey :
By Emil Pedersen
With school we went to Eversham
But we went by bus not by tram
When we finally came out of the bus,
We made a big fuzz
We slept on matresses of straw in an old barn
And we made rope out of yarn
We were chopping wood
To make the fire good
I liked to be responsible for the fire,
And with my stick I made it higher
We had a sacrificial ceremony with many plays
On the most fun of all the days
We played games of old
And in the evening we stayed until it was dark and cold
It was late when we went to bed and fell asleep
And we woke up when heard the first bird say “cheep”
There were many things to do
And one of them was to go with the canoe
We ate with a s spoon out of wood
And all we made tasted good
All our costumes were black as a black hole
And we all smelled of burned charcoal
Eversham was a very nice place
course you never had to wash your face
i wish I could live like that every day
and now I have no more to say.
