Barn Dance

 
Like always, also this year’s last family event became a sunny event. Not only from a weather perspective, but also the organization, the spirit and the ambiance were warm and so welcoming that many families didn’t want to leave.

Of course ‘Hof Kleinenberg’ offered just the right surroundings to make the people stay an extra hour or two. The food and service was excellent (once again well done Middle School students and teachers), the music was catching and delivered with a lot of enthusiasm, and the numerous stall holders found themselves surrounded by an ongoing stream of customers who not only came to look and chat but also bargained and bought clothes, games, toys and items for the baby to come.

Treasure Trove bookshop left after a days sale only with half the books they arrived with in the morning. Just the right book selection for the audience present.

In the courtyard, during two one and half hour sessions, people big and small kept counting up to eight, turned left and right, made right hand stars as well left hand stars, made a promenade, spun around and docidoot when the caller told them to do so. What a great way to get your weekly exercise in. Smiling faces all around!

All in all hundreds of young and older people came along, but not a single moment it felt like an overwhelming crowd. Once again the old fashioned Belgian games proofed to require just the right amount of concentration to capture people’s attention in an intense and pleasant way. Very nice to watch.
